Show Hall and Show Hotel: Marriott North Houston, 255 North Sam Houston Parkway East, Houston, Texas 77060. The show hall is climate controlled and handicapped accessible. There will be food available at the show hall.

The hotel provides shuttle service between Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH).

The room rate is $95 plus tax per night. If you call the hotel to make your reservations, you MUST mention CAT SHOW in order to receive the club room rate or you can use the special web page the hotel has created to book your reservations online.

Please be sure to confine spraying males (and females!) and clean up after yourself and your cats so we will be welcome here again. CATS MUST BE CONFINED WHEN UNATTENDED IN ROOM. Evangeline Country Cat Fanciers has elected to follow the TICA Hotel Room Inspection Procedures for exhibitors who lodge at the show hotel. Entry in this show, and lodging at the show hotel, shall constitute an acknowledgment by and consent of the exhibitor to these procedures.

Please make every effort to leave your room in the condition it was found, or better. Tipping housekeeping staff doesn't hurt - happy housekeeping staff don't complain to management! Trash bags (& litter) will be available for your convenience. If you have a problem you can't take care of yourself, please let show management know and we will do whatever we can to help. The condition of your room reflects on the entire cat fancy, and it only takes one mishap to lose a hotel (even a whole chain) forever.

A $30 charge will be assessed for any returned checks.

Registration: With the exception of cats competing in the Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed, and New Traits classes, registration with TICA is not necessary to compete in the cat's first show. However, to be scored for TICA titles and Regional / International awards, all cats (other than household pet kittens) must be registered by their second show. Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).

Per TICA Show Rule 203.19, "ALL Preliminary New Breeds (PNB), Advanced New Breeds (ANB) and New Traits (NT) must have a TICA registration number prior to entry in any TICA show. No Preliminary New Breed, Advanced New Breed or New Trait may enter a show with a 'registration pending'."

Please contact TICA for registration forms and information (TICA, P. O. Box 2684, Harlingen, TX 78551).

Health: This is a non-vetted show. Any cat showing signs of illness, parasites or fungus will be escorted from the show hall, along with any cats owned, housed or agented by the same exhibitor. All entries should be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calici and distemper (panleukopenia) at least two(2) weeks prior to the show, and should test negative for feline leukemia and FIV ("feline AIDS"). Any feline from a house or cattery where there has been fungus or any infectious or contagious illness within twenty-one (21) days prior to the opening day of the show is ineligible for entry. An obviously pregnant or lactating cat will be disqualified. TICA show rules require all claws, front and back, be clipped prior to judging. Be prepared to show proof of rabies vaccination. It is state law.

For Sale: Sales cage space will be available to exhibitors if space is available. (Double spaces - 22 inches x 44 inches.)

Kittens: All kittens entered for competition must be at least four (4) and not more than eight (8) calendar months old on the day of the show. Kittens may be spayed or neutered. No kitten under three (3) months of age will be allowed in the show hall (be prepared to show proof of age).

Household Pets: We love having Household Pets (HHPs) enter our show. However, they must conform to all the same health standards and age requirements as other entries. Household Pet Kittens [at least four (4) months old, but not yet eight (8) months old] can be either altered (neutered or spayed) or unaltered. All Household Pets eight (8) months of age and older MUST be neutered or spayed. There is no rule against Household Pets being declawed. If you're not sure what color your cat is or in which class it should be entered, refer to the New Exhibitor section above. There's a lot of good information you can access. If you're still not sure, please contact the Entry Clerk. She may ask for a picture of your cat to help clarify how your cat should be entered.

Benching: Each entry will be assigned a single cage, approx. 22" X 22" X 22". The two (2) sides, back, and top must be covered. For the comfort of your cat(s), please bring something for the bottom of the cage too! TICA rules allow no more than two (2) kittens or one (1) cat benched in a single cage. NO KITTENS OR CATS MAY BE CONFINED TO CARRIERS, EITHER DISPLAYED OR UNDER CAGES, DURING SHOW HOURS. Any person disregarding these rules will be asked to leave the show. All odd number entries MUST purchase an extra ½ cage.

Grooming spaces: These measure 22 inches x 44 inches.

Supplies: Cat litter will be available, but please bring your own litter pan and food and water dishes!

Clerks: Ring Clerks will be paid $35 per day, plus a fully marked catalog and lunch. Please indicate on the Summary Sheet if you would like to clerk. Do not deduct clerking fees from your entry. Requests for specific judges will be honored to the extent possible. Currently licensed TICA clerks will be given preference.

Stewards: Stewards will be paid $10 per ring per day plus lunch. If you or your child is willing to steward, please indicate on the summary form.

Awards: All entries will receive a single rosette and rosette bars (plaques) will be awarded in the rings for finals in accordance with TICA Show Rules. Donations to our rosette fund are greatly appreciated!

Transportation: The hotel is just minutes away from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH). Many major airlines fly into IAH and the hotel provides shuttle to / from the airport. If you wish to fly into William P. Hobby Airport (HOU), you will have to rent a car or take a taxi / limo as the club cannot provide transportation to / from Hobby Airport. Hobby Airport is approximately 24 mi/45-60 minutes (or more) from the Marriott North, depending upon traffic.

NO SMOKING WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE SHOW HALL.

NEITHER Evangeline Country Cat Fanciers, the Marriott North Houston, nor TICA may be held liable for loss, theft, or damage to animals, personal property, exhibitors, or their guests.
